For more consumers to have an electric car in their garage, offering less expensive options is essential. A German manufacturer has already presented a solution that can help to circumvent the problem. Mullen Automotive, an American startup in the automotive sector, went the other way and presented the I-Go, its new pact and “cheap” battery-powered vehicle.

The model's great asset is its price: US$ 9.385 in China, or R$ 49.940 at the current exchange rate. In reality, the car was not designed by Mullen, but licensed by another manufacturer, the Chinese Henan Henrey Shiying Vehicle.

The I-Go weighs just 795 kg and has a 16,5 kWh battery. Enough to run for 200 km. The electric motor is installed at the rear and generates 46 horsepower and 102 Nm of torque. Its top speed is 100 km/h.

Despite the original project being a four-seater passenger vehicle, according to Mullen's unicado, the model will be adapted to fulfill another function. The I-Go will be sold by distributors in the UK, Germany, Spain, France and Ireland to meet the high demand for ercia vehicles that can travel in "restricted spaces".

“We realize that one of the most critical issues today is inefficient last mile delivery in urban centers. The introduction of the I-Go creates opportunities where there is a great demand for this type of small vehicle,” said David Michery, CEO and President of Mullen Automotive.

Germany will be the first to receive the EV from December 2022. In Europe, Mullen will sell it for a higher price than the original Chinese model: US$ 11.999, about R$ 63,7 without the addition of rates.

Even so, this is less than the “cheapest” 0 Km model in Brazil today, the Fiat Mobi. The car's entry configuration, 'Like', underwent a readjustment of R$ 1.890 in October and rose to R$ 66.580.
