World's most expensive car: Rolls-Royce Boat Tail costs R$145 million

What is the most expensive car in the world? All car enthusiasts have asked themselves this question at one time and, well, it seems that now there is an answer. In the last week, the Rolls-Royce announced the very exclusive boat tail, whose absurd price is equivalent to a “Mega da Virada” jackpot: 20 million pounds sterling (approximately R$ 145 million in direct conversion). The value is almost twice as much as the Bugatti La Voiture Noir, the vehicle that maintained the status until then.

Only three units will be built and, apparently, one of them already has a garage: Beyoncé and Jay-Z. According to Forbes magazine, the most powerful couple in the music industry already own one of the most luxurious models ever made. Check out more details of the “most expensive car in the world” below, in a video released by the brand:

The name Boat Tail (“Boat Tail”, in literal translation) is not by chance. After all, the luxurious model is nautical-inspired and bears a resemblance to a vessel in design – almost a yacht on wheels. Under the long hood, the British car hides a 12 liter V6,75 biturbo gasoline engine. In regular versions (never cheaper), it produces up to 571 hp. In the Black Badge configuration, however, the power reaches 608 hp.

According to the brand, the custom-made convertible “took years to make” and is inspired by J-Class yachts made in the early XNUMXth century. Therefore, it carries items that allude to the luxury boat, the bumper and the long tail made of wood and stainless steel that alludes to a deck.

And the highlight of the most expensive car in the world is precisely the interior of this deck. After the butterfly-style mechanical opening, the owner of the Boat Tail has access to a complete luxury dining set by Christofle, all pieces made of crystal, porcelain and silver. And, to chill the champagne, there are two mini cellars in the trunk that cool the Armand de Brignac (which, curiously, is a brand linked to the rapper) at 6ºC, the ideal temperature for drinking it.

The compartment, called by the brand “hosting suite”, can be considered the most luxurious part of the car. However, if that's not enough, the vehicle still carries cocktail tables that rotate out of the bodywork, as well as a sunshade that comes out of the center of the model.

Luxury brand even more luxurious

The Boat Tail is one of the models created by coachbuilding, a department within Rolls-Royce specializing in the exclusive customization of the brand’s cars, obviously focused on extremely wealthy customers – that is, on those who have so much money that they don’t know where else to spend it. the fortune.

Within the sector, designers are able to create a model completely to the customer's taste, from body design to out-of-the-box features that can go as far as money and imagination can take. According to the English automaker on the official website, the idea was born to be a “counterpoint to industrialized luxury”.

The department has already delivered several redesigned models – whether classics from the 1900s to more recent models – in luxurious versions. As for releases, the Boat Tail is only the second invention of coachbuilding and arrives about four years after the very exclusive Sweptail, launched in 2017.

The most expensive car in the world belongs to Jay-Z and Beyoncé

The main clue that gave the backdrop for the information coming from the couple's new vehicle to surface is that, recently, Jay-Z would have sold part of the stakes in a champagne company called Armand de Brignac to Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. In the announcement of the new Rolls-Royce, it was disclosed that the model has the trunk “made specifically to house a bottle of Armand de Brignac”.

Another detail is the fact that the most expensive car in the world has been announced as a “model that refers to the paradisiacal roads of the Cote D'Azur” (“Blue Coast”, in the free translation), on the French Riviera – a place that the rapper and the singer often visit, and often have picnics outdoors.

In addition to the reference to the name of the place, the vehicle's blue paintwork would pay homage to the couple's firstborn, Blue Ivy.

Lastly, Jay-Z is known to be a huge watch lover and collector. Precisely, the Boat Tail panel carries two minimalist supports made of titanium to attach two wrist accessories and thus make them part of the car. As reported by Forbes, the rapper would also have signed the lower part of the front grille, while Beyoncé would have "left a mark on the emblem".
