Nokia launches three new (very) simple cell phones and a new entry-level tablet

Nokia, by the hands of HMD Global, announced this Tuesday (12), the unusual launch of three simple cell phones, but which seek their reason for existing in nostalgia: The Nokia 8210 4G, 2660 Flip and 5710 XpressAudio. In addition to this trio, the Finnish company also showed a simple tablet the Nokia T10.

Starting with the Nokia 8210 4G, the company brought a cell phone from 1999 back to the present day, introducing a non-existent data connection technology at the time: fourth generation networks. It features an alphanumeric keyboard, a body that promises to be as durable as the original model, and a 2,8-inch color screen.

The addition of 4G also delivers support for VoLTE calling and inside a Unisoc T107 chip does the job of controlling the simple operating system. It has 128 MB (yes, mega) of memory and allows expansion with a microSD card of up to 32 GB. A camera is on the back and it takes VGA photos (480p).

Nokia 5710 XpressAudio has a built-in headphone jack

Like the original Nokia 8210, the new model has a removable battery, but the weeks of autonomy are only guaranteed in stand-by mode, which is when you don't use the cell phone and also don't turn off the device.

Moving on to the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio, the user remains a simple cell phone and small screen, but it shrinks to 2,4 inches. The chip is the same, as well as the single rear camera and the removable battery, in addition to the alphanumeric keyboard. This device tries to be a built-in TWS (completely wireless) headphone MP3 Player.



The accessory is attached to the back and from there it recharges its battery, which guarantees even acoustic isolation. Autonomy is up to four hours of music or two hours and 30 minutes of conversation over the 4G network.

The Nokia 2660 Flip is a flip phone, with an internal screen of 2,8 inches and an external screen of 1,77 inches. Processor, memory, camera and 4G connection remain the same here, also keeping the battery removable.

Nokia T10 is simpler than the T20

Jumping to something more anticipated for 2022, we have the Nokia T10. It is a simpler tablet than the already simple T20. The product has an eight-inch screen at 720p resolution, while the chip is a Unisoc T606. This is the same processor present in very basic smartphones, like the Motorola Moto E32, the Nokia G21 and the Samsung Galaxy A03.

The chip comes with 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal memory, the battery is 5.100 mAh and Android is already running version 12, the promise of two major updates. This means that the Nokia T10 will receive up to Android 14 and security patches for three years.

At the back an 8-megapixel camera does the job expected for this type of feature on a tablet, while at the front a 2-megapixel sensor helps with video calling.


When and how much?

Nokia has not released specific launch dates for Brazil, but certainly these cell phones and the tablet will arrive here in a short time. In the European market the values ​​look like this:

  • Nokia 8210 4G: 59 euros (approximately BRL 318)
  • Nokia 2660: 69 euros (approximately BRL 372)
  • Nokia 5710 XpressAudio: 69 euros (approximately BRL 372)
  • Nokia T10: from 159 euros (approximately BRL 856)
