The new generation Toyota Corolla hybrid debuted this month in Japan with notable changes in both the feature package and powertrain. The electrified model arrives in Brazil in 2023 and is more powerful and technological.
The 1.8-litre buston engine has been renovated and now has a more powerful electric booster. combined, power rose to 140 horsepower (currently 122 horsepower). In the US, the entry-level model, the Corolla Hybrid LE 2023, was also around R$6,5 more affordable.
Vehicle performance also gained prominence. According to the estimate of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the hybrid Corolla does almost 20 km / l in the city.

The standard 10,5” multimedia center and the 12,3” digital instrument panel are present in the Japanese version of the car. Over here, the model should only arrive with an 8″ screen on the panel.
4G and voice control
If desired, the prador can receive 4G connection in the vehicle, which can be shared by 5 other devices via Wi-Fi. Users can also interact with the entertainment center by touch or voice to receive Google-provided directions, adjust audio controls, cabin temperature, and more.
There is also support for connecting two gadgets simultaneously via Bluetooth and AppleCarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
More safety on board
Toyota has added a more robust safety package to the new Corolla. A novelty is the active steering assistant, which autonomously controls the brakes and steering wheel to avoid pedestrian and other vehicle accidents.
There is also support for over-the-air updates, that is, the car can receive improvements without the owner going to a brand dealership.
The new hybrid Corolla is expected to land here in the first half of 2023 in response to the hybrid Honda Civic, which will also be launched in Brazil later this year.
