HDMI cables (“High-Definition Multimedia Interface”, or high-definition multimedia interface) came to transform the way users consume audio and video content. Replacing those multicolored pin cables, this technology has taken our movies, series and games to a new level of quality on the TV screen.
However, like any other electronic product, it is not uncommon to have to deal with some connection problems in cables of this type. After all, it is natural that time and continuous use end up leaving a price to pay on the physical structure of these new technologies. Below we list 5 simple solutions to solve the dreaded problem of no connection in the HDMI cable.
1 - Bad contact
Another problem is the connection failure, which takes the image and video out of the picture for a few seconds or permanently due to sheer instability. Normally, the cause is a simple bad contact that can be resolved by manually adjusting, usually positioning, the TV's HDMI input in relation to the cable. Try to match the image quality and aspect ratio on the laptop to the limitations and measurements of the TV and the signal should be re-established.

Another simple issue of lack of unification between devices. If you're trying to connect a PC to the TV via the HDMI cable, but only the picture appears, with no sound, there may be a software issue. On Windows, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Manage Audio Devices. Make sure the HDMI output is enabled and the volume is loud enough.
4 - Firmware
If you're using a new device, a Home Theater or a Blu-ray Player, for example, and the HDMI cable doesn't seem to transmit either audio or video to the TV, maybe the problem is in the firmware - operating instructions programmed directly in the hardware of an electronic device. In that case, simply connect the TV or device in question to the internet and download the latest firmware update.
5 - “Worn” entry
If you've been using HDMI cables for a long time, but suddenly your movies, series or games started showing transmission failures, the problem may be in your device's HDMI input, the one where the cable is connected. over time, improper use or excessive pressure can damage this port. It is possible that the problem will be solved if you simply connect your cable to another available HDMI input on the device in question. Give preference to one that is not used much.
