What the internet thought of Balenciaga's new 'destroyed' sneaker: we have the best answers
Last Monday (9), Balenciaga launched a sneaker that looks like it was destroyed, all torn and dirty. In the Paris Sneaker launch text, the famous luxury brand highlighted the features of the new products. It didn't take long for the internet to react and the memes started to appear.
“A revamped classic design interprets mid-century athleticism and timeless casual wear in black, white or red, white rubber sole and toe cap. Finished off worn canvas and rough edges, creating a pre-worn look. Balenciaga Paris sneakers come in lace-up styles, either high-top or backless mules,” the Spanish company said in a statement.
The new collection has high-top sneakers for US$625, which is around R$3,2, and low-top sneakers for US$495, worth R$2,5, according to the Hypebeast website. According to the website “The Business of Fashion”, the edition has only 100 pairs available and you can buy them in blue, white and red.
Even Balenciaga's explanation of the concept of sneakers designed by Demma Gvsalia, the novelty became a meme on social networks and divided the opinion of Internet users. See the best responses on Twitter:
