The term refers to a virtual youtuber, that is, a content creator made in animation, which can be 2D or 3D. In these cases, there is a person behind everything, but the person who becomes famous is the chosen avatar.

When did the Vtubers wave start?
This type of content creator is very famous in Japan and the United States and started Kizuna AI, who opened an AI Chanel channel on YouTube in late 2016.
There were already some virtual idols and even some channels represented by animations made in graphic putation, but other purposes.
Kizuna AI was introduced as an independent artificial intelligence that was intended to better understand humans.
In his first video, Kizuna speaks in Japanese, but his fans insisted on subtitling it in several languages, including Portuguese. Currently, videos are available with English and Japanese subtitles.
It was so successful that the creator of Vtuber also created a gameplay channel called AI Games. On the first channel, Kizuna accumulates more than 3 million followers, while the gameplay platform is approaching 1,5 million subscribers.
Kizuna was so successful that he even featured in a campaign for the National Tourism Organization of Japan, in addition to presenting a program on Japanese television.
The identity of the creators and responsible for the Kizuna AI videos has not been revealed until today, it is only known that the actress Nozomi Kasuga is the one who gives the original voice to the character.

It's good to keep in mind that to create a Vtuber it is necessary to make an initial investment, especially if you don't know how to create a 3D or 2D illustration.
