The Carteira de Trabalho e Previdencia Social (CTPS) is an official document in Brazil for any worker to prove their employment relationship with the place where they provide services. The document also guarantees citizens all labor rights, unemployment insurance, FGTS, PIS and retirement.
What a lot of people still don't know is that since 2019, the Work Card has become exclusively digital, and it is no longer necessary to present the physical document. Currently, the physical document is no longer issued.

What is the Digital Work Card and how does it work?
The digital version of the Carteira de Trabalho is the document with information about your jobs. It can be accessed from anywhere, as long as the user has a mobile device with internet access. In addition, the document is stored safely and can only be accessed by those who have the registered login and password.
Another advantage is that the worker can access the document at any time to check if there have been any changes to their employment contract or to check if the information contained in the document is correct.

Anyone who wants to request their first or second copy of the document must access the Digital Work Card application, however, it is necessary to have a registration on gov.com, the official portal of the federal government and the country's official database.
The Carteira de Trabalho application is also very useful for workers to consult their current employment contracts, catching possible changes and verifying that all information in the document is correct.
Does Digital CTPS replace physics?
Yes. As of January 2019, the physical Employment Card is no longer issued and, therefore, the digital document must be requested to access all labor benefits. If the worker does not have the digital document, he can request a duplicate of the document through the Employment Card application.

1 – Open the Digital Work Card application, which is available for Android and iOS;
2 – Click on “Enter”;
3 – Login to your gov.com account;
4 – The initial screen will present information about the last annotations in the document;
5 – Under “Contracts”, you can find all the companies that you had a relationship with;
6 – In the “Send” tab you can find save a version of your Digital Wallet or send it to someone;
7 – You can also find the benefits you are entitled to in the “Benefits” option.
Is it possible to print the Digital Work Card?
Do not. The CTPS Digital cannot be printed and, if the worker needs to present the physical document, he must request a duplicate of the card through the application.

- Access the Work Card application;
- Click on “Enter”;
- Log in to your gov.com account;
