This Wednesday (12) Donald Trump's social network, Truth Social, became available on the Google Play Store. Previously, the Android system app store had rejected the platform for considering its insufficient content moderation.
At the time, Google alerted Truth Social to “various violations of standard policies in current app submissions and reiterated that having effective systems in place to moderate user-generated content is a condition of our terms of service for any app to be released on Google.” Play”.
However, now it seems that the former US president's social network has agreed to revise its policy on removing messages that incite violence. That's what Google explained to the AFP news agency.
According to a Google spokesperson, the apps present in the store “must conform to our policies for publishers, including the obligation to effectively moderate content published by third parties and remove objectionable messages, or those that incite violence”.
Truth Social was added to Samsung's US app store last week. The platform is also available in the Apple cell phone app store.
Donald Trump's platform is considered an opposition to major social networks, especially Twitter, which banned the businessman and politician after the Capitol invasion episode in January 2021.

Apparently, Twitter is reviewing its policies for permanently banning users. The information was published by the Financial Times newspaper this Wednesday (12) and points out that the social network is seeking to align its content moderation with Elon Musk's vision.
According to the publication, people close to the social network reported that the platform is looking for other content moderation tools that can replace the permanent ban, which is currently the most serious penalty applied by Twitter.
