WhatsApp stopped: app crash viralizes on networks; check out the memes

    This Tuesday morning (25), WhatsApp faced problems and the inconvenience was recorded as a worldwide outage, unstable messaging servers globally around 4:50 am (Brasília time).

    The issue took more than 2 hours to resolve and the impact of the crash on WhatsApp proved once again the power of the application's influence on world unity. The disorder went viral on social media and many users reported that they could not access the messenger.

    On the Downdetector website, which brings user complaints about problems with WhatsApp, it registered an increase in user dissatisfaction after the app’s instability began. Failures in sending messages were one of the points most raised by people.

    Shortly after the onset of instability problems on WhatsApp, the hashtag #whatsappdown became one of the most popular topics on Twitter worldwide. Some hashtags involving the app crash also reverberated on Instagram and other networks.


    A spokesman for Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, gave an interview to the AFP agency about the problem in the messenger, but did not bring details of the worldwide breakdown. “We know that people had problems sending messages on WhatsApp today,” he said. "We have resolved the issue and apologize for any inconvenience," he said.
