WhatsApp is looking to develop new tools for the application and right now, the messenger is sending a new update to the beta version. In the update, the company is testing the addition of profile pictures in group conversations, a feature similar to that of Telegram.
The new update is available on WhatsApp beta for iOS version 22.23.0.70. The feature is supported by some testers and the messenger is working to roll out the tool to all users soon.
this, next to the chat bubbles in the groups, the profile pictures of the participants would be visible. The addition in the UI can be a good alternative for group members to recognize other participants more quickly – and a great aid for same-name group members.
Also, the default profile picture will appear if the group member doesn't have a profile picture or it's hidden due to the privacy options selected in the settings. This default image is always in color and uses the same color as the contact name.

For now, the tool is only available to some beta testers, who have installed the latest iOS WhatsApp beta update. The app didn't mention when the feature might arrive for all users.
