A delicate and controversial subject, the famous body modifications provoke debates between doctors, body piercers and people who do not understand or have never seen the type of procedure. It is not new that surgeries have been drawing attention and not just because of the extreme changes in the body, but because of the growth of the public that is adhering to the look.
To clarify, body modification is any change made to the body on purpose, irreversible or not, for a reason that is not medically necessary. The ones we see the most out there are those related to the face, the cuts in ears, to appear more pointed, cuts in tongues (or forked tongue), which resemble those of a snake, varieties of piercings and plugs, eye coloring from tattoos and the implantation of objects under the skin, or horns or materials that offer the appearance of relief.

Most health experts agree that there are several risks in performing the procedures. To the Technology Refugee, the plastic and oncological surgeon Wandemberg Barbosa, who works at Albert Einstein and Nove de Julho hospitals in São Paulo, stated that surgeries of this type go against the physiology of the body and, generally, are carried out based on adolescent desires, which increase the chances of regrets.
On the other hand, for the body piercer Acácia Britto Winter, who has a forked tongue, several piercings, reamers and countless tattoos, the practice is not dealt with carelessly by professionals, demanding safety protocols and respect for the client's health. Important points such as the search for confidence studios, prejudice and the personal right to choose over one's own body were also addressed by Acacia.

- vampire woman
Registered in the 2022 edition of the Guinness Book, the Book of Records, Mexican Maria José Cisterna, 46, holds the title of woman with the most body modifications in the world. Nicknamed the Vampire Woman, precisely because of her appearance, she has 99% of her body tattooed, in addition to other modifications, a forked tongue and subcutaneous implants that mimic horns.

The tattoo artist Michel Praddo, better known as 'Diabão', is the most famous tattoo artist in Brazil. great visibility and followers on Instagram, he has participated in several interviews, videos and content on the subject. Always updating his tattoos and body modifications, which already add up to 70 in total, he recently launched another one: he turned his hand into a claw, joining the index and middle fingers after removing the ring finger, so did his nose, ears and nipples .
Diabão's wife, body modifier Carol Praddo, known as 'Woman 'Demônia', was responsible for the procedure. She has also made several changes to her body. Diabão has mentioned on a few occasions that he still intends to become the most modified in the world.

Tom Leppard, better known as the Leopard Man, was in 2016 the record holder for the most tattooed senior citizen in the world. He had 99,9% of his body covered in tattoos, which formed the “skin” of a leopard.
Tom died in June 2016, aged 82. The Guinness World Records official Instagram account made a post at the time, recalling its title.

- Black alien
French Youtuber, Anthony Loffredo is known on social networks for 'Black Alien Project', as his intention in the transformations would be to transform himself into an alien. He has been sharing his transformation process on Instagram for a few years now. Loffredo removed ears, nose and part of his lips, he also has a forked tongue, has subcutaneous implants, in addition to the tattoos that already cover his entire body.

German, Buchholz is considered the most piercing man in the face in the world (453), being included in the famous (and desired) book of Guinness World Records. He also has several body modifications, and is also the owner of the title of the man most modified in the world — it has 516 changes.

- Zombie Boy
Called Zombie Boy, Rick Genest became known after appearing in the clip Born This Way (I was born like this, in free translation), by singer Lady Gaga. The song talks about there being "nothing wrong with loving who you are". The boy has more than 130 tattoos of bones on his body, imitating a skull, in addition to 170 drawings of insects.
