STF removes Fui Vazado site, used in data leak queries

The Federal Supreme Court (STF) ordered the Fui Vazado website to be taken down. The order was issued last Wednesday (3) and signed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Since the beginning of Monday (8) early, anyone who tries to access the page finds the message "Access is denied" and the explanation that "this site is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks".

Fui Vazado allowed Internet users to consult whether their own security was violated, considering the leak of data of 220 million Spaniards at the beginning of the month, which led to an investigation by the National Authority for Data Protection (ANPD).

According to an article published on UOL, the closure of the site was carried out by the Federal Police, which did not include the judicial decision in the report. The site's developer, Allan Fernando Armerlin da Silva Moraes, 19, was also contacted, but he could not be found. According to the dispatch, in addition to Fui Vazado, three other similarly functioning platforms were deactivated by the PF – these, according to the authorities, were located in “deep/dark web forums”.

The decision to remove the site from the air came after the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo published an article where it revealed that President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) had also been a victim of the massive leak, and his data were available for consultation, which could open precedent for people to use your information to transact or purchase products.

Google cannot direct to the site

In addition to Bolsonaro, several STF ministers are also among the victims. The president of the house, Minister Luis Fux, determined that measures should be taken.

“The commercialization of private and confidential information and data of members of this court directly affects the intimacy, privacy and personal security of its members. There is, therefore, the need to stop injury or threat of injury to the right (art. 5, XXXV, CF), in order to stop the incentive to break institutional normality, achieved through the disclosure and commercialization of private and confidential data of authorities ”, highlighted Moraes in the dispatch.

In addition to removing the four pages from the air, the STF order also obliges Google and other mechanisms to remove any mentions or directions in their services that may point to the sites.
