Check out everything that happened at the September State of Play

PlayStation fans had the opportunity to witness another State of Play event this Tuesday (13). In Sony's presentation, there were 20 minutes that showed new trailers for games already announced and some other revelations.


The highlight, without a doubt, goes to the new trailer for “God of War Ragnarok”, whose release is getting closer. On the other hand, we had other videos of “Like a Dragon: Ishin!”, “Tekken 8” and “Hogwarts Legacy” that excited some players.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition

“Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge” was originally released in 2020 for Oculus Quest systems. At State of Play, Sony announced that the game will win a version for the PlayStation VR2 and will be released in 2023.

In the title, the player is a droid and will have to go through adventures in several iconic locations in the “Star Wars” galaxy.

Another title announced for the PlayStation VR2 was “Demeo”. The game is a tabletop RPG for four players that brings quite exciting contours in turn-based actions.

The game is currently cross-platform between PC and Oculus Quest devices. However, State of Play did not disclose the release date for PS VR2.


Tekken 8

State of Play brought the official announcement of “Tekken 8”. In the reveal video, the characters Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima battle fiercely in the rain and show off powerful moves. The game shows a notable graphical evolution compared to the previous title.

In addition to PS5, the game will be available for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. However, no release date has been announced by Bandai Namco.


Like a Dragon: Were!

The spin-off series “Yakuza” was originally released in 2014 for PS3 and PS4. However, “Like a Dragon: Ishin!” will be coming to the West for the first time and the remake will have revamped graphics.

In the State of Play trailer, the game shows excerpts of the story that should explore the end of the samurai era. The game will be available in February 2023 for PS4 and PS5.

Hogwarts legacy

“Hogwarts Legacy” also appeared on State of Play to reveal a side story mission that will be exclusive to PS4 and PS5. The quest is called "The Haunted Shop of Hogsmeade" and appears to be a lot darker than the others.

The Playstation Blog also made a text talking about the exclusive mission. The game will be released on February 10, 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

pacific drive

At State of Play, we also had the announcement of “Pacific Drive”, a new game from Ironwood Studios. The game mixes elements of horror and survival in a dystopian world, in the middle of the enigmatic Olympic Exclusion Zone.


In the trailer it is shown that the player drives a car in a completely unstable area and must reach the center that displays supernatural events. The game arrives in 2023 for PS5 and PC.

Playstation Stars

"PlayStation Stars", Sony's free loyalty program, also appeared at State of Play and had more details revealed at the event. The feature will bring digital collectibles, which players can earn rewards.

The program will be available in some regions of the world in September and later in the rest of the world.


synduality

Bandai Namco revealed another game at the State of Play: “Synduality”, which presents the theme of science fiction in a dystopian world, which takes place in the year 2222. The player will control a character who will go through adventures with a robot, the help of Magus, an AI.

The sci-fi game will be released next year and arrives for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Stellar Blade

Previously called “Project Eve”, the game “Stellar Blade” was announced in the State of Play and the name is defined for Eve, the protagonist of the story. In the plot, the character will help protect the city of Xion from the threat called NA:tive.

In addition to revealing mechanics and part of the story of “Stellar Blade”, the event announced that the game will be exclusive to PS5 and arrives in 2023.

Rise of the Ronin

Rise of the Ronin” is a Team Ninja production that has been in development for seven years. The game is an open world RPG focused on beating and is set in Japan at the end of the Edo historical period, in the 19th century. The player will control a Ronin in the midst of the beginning of a new era in the country.


As well as “Stellar Brade”, it was announced at State of Play that “Rise of the Ronin” will be a PS5 exclusive title. However, no release date has been revealed.

God of war ragnarok

Finally, the highlight of the State of Play was a sure bet by the fans. An unprecedented trailer for the expected “God of War Ragnarok” was released at the event and the video shows more of the duo Kratos and Atreus in cinematic scenes and gameplay, impressive graphic visuals.

The likely outcome of the Nordic saga arrives on November 9, 2022 for PS4 and PS5. In addition to the game, Sony also announced a game-themed DualSense that will have a limited edition, pre-order starting on September 27.
