Good news for “Dark Souls 3” PC players. After a few months of inactivity, the game's online servers on the platform have been reactivated. The announcement of the online return came via Twitter in a post on the franchise's official account.
The "Dark Souls 3" servers were taken down earlier this year by developer FromSoftware due to a security issue that needed investigation. In the game, it was possible to access the RCE (remote arbitrary code execution) that allowed a player to take control of another's PC.
Online features for the PC version of Dark Souls III have been reactivated.

The practice was widespread on internet forums and indicated that other FromSoftware games also had something similar, the one in “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice” – in the case of Sekiro, however, there was no activation of this execution. The issue was even corrected in “Elden Ring”, another title from the developer.
FromSoftware manifested itself on Twitter and the developer claims that it is working to return the online servers of the other “Dark Souls” games.

“We plan to restore online service for each game progressively, bringing back the servers for “Dark Souls 3″ as soon as we complete work to resolve the issue,” said FromSoftware. “We will update you as soon as the restoration schedule is completed. We thank all of our players for their patience and patience as we work to fix this issue.”
“Dark Souls 3” is considered by many fans to be the best game in the series and one of the best in the soulslike genre. The game was released in 2016 and surpassed the mark of 10 million units sold worldwide.
