International Gamer Day is celebrated this Monday (29) and we can spend the whole day talking about themes and subjects related to video games. So, how about we list the most successful consoles in the history of the gaming industry?


Each player has their preference, of course, but in the console sales list, the numbers are indisputable. So, let's bring this curiosity here. Check out the list of the 5 best selling video games in history below!

5.Nintendo Switch

  • Units sold: around 111 million

The Nintendo Switch was a great response from the Japanese company to the failure of the Wii U, which definitely did not fall to the taste of the gamer public. The Switch came as a hybrid video game and the Joy-Con tool helped its success around the world, being able to be used both portablely and at home. It is very likely that the console of “Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild” and “Super Smash Bros.”, currently in fifth place on the list, will soon surpass the PlayStation 4 in units sold.



4. Playstation 4

The PS2 was responsible for introducing the world of video games to many future players in Brazil and the world, in addition to marking its name in history with several iconic games, "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas", "Winning Eleven 2002", "Resident Evil 4", "Guitar Hero", "Final Fantasy X" and "God of War". The popularity of the PS2 is so great that the closure of console productions only occurred in 2013, when the PS4 was about to hit the market.
