The new Netflix series Wandinha, which brings a new story of the iconic Addams Family, has been a huge success, breaking records and ranking first in audience on streaming. But for the daughter of the Addams to get this far, many other productions have explored this universe over the years.
Despite all the success she has been having among younger people, Wandinha comes from a long journey in comics, TV and cinema to get here. The Addams Family appeared to the world in 1938, in Charles Addams cartoons published in the New Yorker magazine (learn more here).

In the 1960s, the Addams went from the paper to the small screen, reaching the big screen later, conquering the world and never leaving the attention of both older and younger people.

The Addams Family (1964)
The first appearance of the Addams Family was in the 1964 series. The sitcom The Addams Family is considered a TV classic, and was launched on the American TV network ABC. The series has a total of three seasons, airing between 1964 and 1966.
Carolyn Jones played the iconic Mortícia, John Astin lived the first Gomez in live action, Jackie Coogan brought Uncle Chico to life, Feioso was lived by Ken Weathervax, Ted Cassidy played Tropeço and Wandinha was played by actress Lisa Loring.

The Addams Family (1991)
The Addams Family hit theaters for the first time in 1991, director Barry Sonnenfeld's acclaimed film. The film was successful at the box office, although it was not well received by critics.
The film stars Anjelica Huston, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance as Morticia Addams, Raul Julia as Gomez Addams, Christopher Lloyd as Fester Addams and Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams as Wandinha.

The Addams Family 2 (1993)
Unlike its predecessor, the sequel The Addams Family 2 was successful among critics, but did not do as well at the box office. The production returned the same cast and director as the film above, and is best known for its acid jokes.

The Addams Family (2019)
In addition to live action productions, the Addams have appeared in some animations. In 2019, MGM released The Addams Family, an animation that achieved global success. Chloë Grace Moretz voiced Wandinha Addams, while her parents were voiced by Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron, and her brother by Finn Wolfhard.

The Addams Family 2: Hit the Road (2021)
After the success of the previous animation, a sequel hit theaters two years later, in the form of the animated The Addams Family 2: On the Road. The voice cast returned almost complete, with the exception of Finn Wolfhard, who was replaced by Javon Walton aka Ugly Addams.
