Batgirl is a major heroine of DC comics, who has been portrayed by a variety of actresses over the last 55 years.
This Tuesday, the solo Batgirl movie was canceled by Warner Bros., for reasons that would have been motivated by conflicts over the size of the production in relation to others within the DC Universe. Thus, we will not see Leslie Grace in the iconic role, except for an image published by the actress herself in the costume of the heroine.
But, before Grace, many other actresses brought the character to life in different DC adaptations for film and TV.
Yvonne craig
The first live-action Batgirl, she is also the most iconic. Yvonne Craig played Barbara Gordon in the third season of the series "Batman", which aired between 1967 and 1968. Craig is considered by many to be "the ultimate Batgirl".
Later, the actress returned to live the character one last time, in the early 1970s, in a public service announcement that called for equal pay between men and women.
Alicia Silverstone
Decades after Yvonne Craig brought Barbara Gordon to life in the “Batman” series, Batgirl hit theaters in 1997, playing Alicia Silverstone in the “Batman & Robin” movie. In the feature released in 1997 starring George Clooney, Silverstone gave life to Barbara Wilson, a variation of Batgirl.
Dina Meyer
A few years later, The WB TV network launched the series “Birds of Prey”, known in Brazil as “Mulher Gato”. Debuting in 2002, the series focused on Helena Kyle, the Huntress, daughter of Batman and Catwoman, and the Oracle, who is none other than Barbara Gordon, played by Dina Meyer.
Despite having the role of Oracle in the series, after the Joker left the heroine paraplegic, the character was Batgirl in the past, and she is shown as the heroine in several flashbacks throughout the plot.

Savannah Welch
The most recent Barbara Gordon is Savannah Welch, who lives the character in “Titans”, a series launched in 2018 that is still ongoing by DC Universe. Welch joined the series' third season as Gotham and the Oracle, as she is wheelchair bound after losing one of her legs.
Welch has already teased fans and the media about the possibility of appearing in flashbacks to Bargirl.
