The film premiered in theaters in Argentina at the end of September, and arrived on Prime Video last Friday, promising a strong campaign by Amazon to get everything in the fight for the Oscar.

“Argentina, 1985” is inspired by the true story of prosecutors Julio Strassera and Luis Moreno Ocampo, a duo who dared to investigate and prosecute Argentina's bloody military dictatorship in 1985. Strassera and Ocampo assembled a young legal team full of unlikely heroes to face the influence of the military at the time, to a David versus Goliath-style battle.

The feature film was filmed in real historical locations, under the direction of Santiago Miter, who also signed the script alongside Mariano Llinás.

Ricardo Darín and Peter Lanzani star in the film, in the roles of prosecutors Julio Strassera and Luis Moreno Ocampo, respectively. In addition to the duo, the feature has names in its cast such as Alejandra Flechner, Carlos Portaluppi, Norman Briski, Héctor Díaz, Alejo García Pintos, Claudio Da Passano, Gina Mastronicola, Walter Jakob and Laura Paredes.
