“The Sandman”, a hit series on Netflix, has been renewed for a second season, according to information from Deadline.
The series launched in early August and was watched for 69,5 million hours in its first week on the platform, reaching 127,5 million in the second, 77,2 million in the third and 53,8 million in the fourth.

The title renewal comes after an accidental DC ics Twitter leak. Before it was deleted, countless people read “the dream continues. [“The Sandman”] will return new episodes based on the multi-volume Neil Gaiman graphic novel to explore many more Endless stories.”
There were also false rumors about a possible cancellation of the series propagated by a fake Twitter account.
The 10-episode series, based on Gaiman's DC ics series of the same name, follows Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), the personification of dreams and one of the seven Endless, is captured in an occult ritual in 1916. After being imprisoned for 106 years, Dream (also Sturridge) escapes and sets out to restore order to his kingdom, the Dreaming.

Executive Allan Heinberg produces alongside Neil Gaiman and David S. Goyer. Gaiman, Goyer and Heinberg are also co-writers on the project. Regarding the renewal of the series, Netflix refused to enter.
