“Breaking Bad” creator talks about possibility of more spin-offs

“Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” co-creator Vince Gilligan gave his thoughts on further expanding this universe by creating new spin-offs.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Gilligan was asked about the future of the “Breaking Bad” universe, the final episode of “Better Call Saul” about to be released. “I can definitely imagine revisiting that. Selfishly, I'd like to revisit, to keep this going," explained Gilligan.

But the answer didn't stop there. “But without naming names, I look around at some of the worlds, universes, stories that I love, whether it's on TV or in the movies. And I think there's a certain point, and it's hard to define, where you've done a lot in the same universe. Just let it go.”

The series creator even went on to cast more doubt on the possibility of expanding the “Breaking Bad” storyline with more spin-offs. “And some universes are much bigger and more elastic. Ours is very small, Albuquerque, New Mexico, against some of these worlds and series of movies and TV shows. Yes, I could do more of this universe. And maybe one day I will, especially if I fail at everything that comes next. Then I'll come crawling back," he joked. "But now, whether or not there's more room to grow - and there probably is - I feel like it's time to do something new."
