    “This Is Us”: successful series premieres on open TV

    The series “This Is Us”, a great success from the American broadcaster NBC, premiered on Spanish open TV by Rede Globo this Wednesday (16).


    In all, the production has six seasons full of drama and emotion as it catches up with the Pearson family. The last episode of “This Is Us” aired in May of this year, ending the long trajectory of the internationally renowned series. In all, the series accumulates 11 Emmy nominations, in addition to two awards wins.

    The series captures the daily life of the Pearson family from the 1980s to the present day. After the death of one of their triplets during childbirth, the couple Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) adopt a newborn rescued by firefighters.

    'This Is Us' portrays the dilemmas of the characters as a family and also the trajectory of each of the children as adults: Randall (Sterling K. Brown), a lawyer dealing with the return of his biological father; Kevin (Justin Hartley), a popular television actor looking to reinvent himself, and Kate (Chrissy Metz), a woman trying to manage her weight and overcome childhood traumas.

    The series was originally broadcast in Brazil on the closed channel Fox Premium. Now, “This Is Us” arrives on Rede Globo's programming grid, replacing the reality gastronomy show “Mestres do Sabor”, on Wednesdays, after the soap opera “Travessia”, at 22:25.
