Adam Sandler Film Named Worst on Netflix

Adam Sandler Film Named Worst on Netflix

Actor Adam Sandler has some great successes from the public and critics in his career, and his partnership with Netflix has already yielded some of them, the recent “Arremessando Alto”. However, the actor's streaming deal has also spawned some of the worst original movies on the platform.

This is the case with “The Ridiculous 6”, a Western comedy released on the Tudum platform in 2015. The film has a 0% approval rating on the Tomatometer, an index on the Rotten Tomatoes website that measures critics' impressions of a production. In addition, public approval – the so-called Audience Score – for the film was only 36%.

Despite this poor performance in both critical and public impressions, “The Ridiculous 6” was a huge hit in terms of ratings at the time. Released in December 2015, the film was the most-watched film in Netflix history at the time, according to a statement from Netflix Executive Director Ted Sarandos during a speech in January 2016.

“'The Ridiculous 6', for example, in its first 30 days on Netflix was the most watched movie in Netflix history. It also took No. XNUMX in every territory we operate in, and in many of them it's still No. XNUMX,” Sarandos said at the time.

The film ceased to be among the most watched on Netflix, several successes surpassing the numbers of “The Ridiculous 6” since then. This is the case of “Red Alert” (2021), “Don't Look Up” (2021), “Bird Box” (2018), “Occult Agent” (2022), “The Adam Project” (2022), among others.

It's also worth noting that "The Ridiculous 6" isn't the only Netflix original to appear on Rotten Tomatoes 0% critical approval. Feature films “Drive” (2019), “A Terra e o Sangue” (2020) and the animation “Marmaduke” are some examples of this.

Adam Sandler still has other Netflix original films to appear among the worst critical scores on Rotten Tomatoes. This is the case of “Father of the Year” (2018) – 0% on the Tomatometer and 49% on the Audience Score -, and also “Zerando a Vida” (2016), a film starring Sandler that has only 6% of critical approval and 42% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
