Andrew Garfield explains the great danger of being Spider-Man

    Actor Andrew Garfield explained in a recent interview the danger linked to the role of Spider-Man, a Marvel character that the actor lived between 2012 and 2014, and recently returned to interpret in a special participation in “Spider-Man: No Return Home ”.

    Garfield gave GQ magazine a lengthy interview where he opened up about his experience playing the iconic Marvel character, who he played in the 2012 reboot "The Amazing Spider-Man" when he was just 26 years old.

    “I'm like, 'F***, that was a lot to take on. It's a ton of sh*t to take on.' And I wanted to take that on,” he said. “I was ready. I was so ready for this. It didn't feel heavy. But I think there were elements that felt like a lot… I felt danger to myself, in terms of fame and exposure.”

    He continued, “Even as I took over [The Amazing Spider-Man], I was like, 'I want to make sure I can do [the plays] 'Angels in America' and 'Death of a Salesman' in a few years. .' I want to be a stage actor first because it seems like a perennial thing. If I can do theater for the rest of my life for an audience of 50 people a night, I know my life will be satisfying. It's not me being loquacious — I really know that.”

    Andrew Garfield starred in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012, and its sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014. The sequel received largely negative reviews from critics and audiences, although a third film was greenlit. from Sony, a planned release for 2016.



    Those plans were later scrapped when Marvel and Sony reached an agreement for Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role filled by Tom Holland.

    So, despite never having starred in a third Spider-Man film, Garfield returned to live the Web Head in 2021, in “Spider-Man: No Going Home”, because of the mess in the multiverse caused by the Spider of Holland and by Doctor Strange. Thus, fans of the hero could see a meeting between Holland's Spider-Man, Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
