Warning: Spoilers below

The 5th episode of “House of The Dragon”, which was named “We Light the Way” (in Portuguese: “Iluminamos o Caminho”), released last Sunday (18), showed Rhaenyra finally agreeing to a marriage of convenience to his cousin, Laenor Velaryon. King Viserys held a feast for the newlyweds' wedding, and the event ended in horrific bloodshed. Kingguard and Rhaenyra's lover, Ser Criston Cole, was tainted with guilt and frustration, and brutally murdered Laenor's secret lover, Ser Joffrey Lonmouth (Solly McLeod), in front of the guests.

Soon after, Rhaenyra and Laenor are forced to continue their marriage vows. It was considered a fitting closing ceremony for the start of the series, as "House of The Dragon" will change pace from mid-season.

In the trailer for episode 6, which was shared on the “Game of Thrones” YouTube channel, it showed that the second half of the season will start 10 years after the wedding and will introduce several new people to the cast. Between them:

  • Emma D’Arcy o Rhaenyra;
  • Olivia Cooke o Alicent;
  • Tom Glynn-Carney of Príncipe Aegon II;
  • Nanna Blondell o Laena Velaryon
