Director Todd Phillips has officially confirmed that a sequel to Warner Bros. is officially in production.
The information was confirmed by the director through a sequence of photos on his Instagram, in which he even reveals the title of the sequel to the 2019 film: “Joker: Folie à Deux”. In the next photo, Phillips shows Joaquin Phoenix himself, the protagonist who lives the Joker, reading the script for the new film.

“Folie à Deux”, which appears to be the subtitle chosen for the new film, is about a phenomenon in which two or more individuals experience the same or similar mental disorder.
In the first image we can see that the script is signed by Scott Silver and Todd Phillips himself, and that it seems to have been finalized on May 18 of this year.

The clearance of the sequel by Warner Bros. it's not a surprise. “Joker,” released in 2019, grossed more than $1 billion globally at the box office, making it the highest-grossing DC film in history. In addition to being a success with the public, the film earned the Academy Award for Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix and was approved by critics.
The sequel to “Joker” does not yet have a release date announced or further details revealed.
