Sylvester Stallone premieres film “Samaritan”; know the origin of the hero

Actor Sylvester Stallone arrives on Prime Video this Friday in the film "Samaritan", playing a retired hero who ends up befriending a young boy. But what is the origin of this “new” hero?

“Samaritano” is based on independent comics from the small American publisher Mythos ics, published from 2015. It was created by Bragi F. Schut, who developed in Samaritano the concept of the retired hero who no longer wants to get involved.

However, in fact the character was already created to star in a movie, but ended up inspiring the creation of comics. So, unlike the heroes we know from Marvel and DC, Samaritan won the comic books, but only after being imagined as a movie character.

So, even though there have been Samaritan comics circulating for years, there are doubts as to whether he is a character adapted from the comics, or if the idea for the movie inspired the comics to be developed.

As for the hero played by Sylvester Stallone, Samaritan is a superhero with great powers, but who has already passed the peak of his abilities. After being a great hero in the late 1990s, he faked his own death in the battle against the villainous Nemesis, and went on to live in anonymity in the suburbs of a city full of violence.

But, despite being surrounded by crimes and people who need help, Samaritan starts to ignore all of this and just live his life like any other person. He poses as a garbage collector and doesn't get involved in superhero issues.

But everything changes when he meets the boy Sam, played by Javon Walton. The young man begins to discover the identity of Samaritan, and begins to investigate the life of Sylvester Stallone's character. Despite angering the boy, the old hero returns to his post to fight a dangerous gang.
