'Venom 2': film becomes second of year to surpass US$ 200 million in US

'Venom: A Time of Carnage' continues to make history at the box office, hitting a new milestone this past weekend and becoming the 2nd film to exceed $200 million in US grosses. The film joins 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' as the only productions to achieve such value in the year 2021. 


When it premiered in the first week of October this year, the sequel totaled US$ 90,1 million in three days in the country, surpassing the performance of 'Black Widow'. Worldwide, 'Venom 2' has raised more than $440 million. 



In theaters, 'Venom: Time of Carnage' features Woody Harrelson reprising the role of Cletus Kasady, in which the character finally transforms into Carnage, which is a red and even more destructive variant of Venom.

In Brazil, 'Venom 2' wins the best box office for its debut in the pandemic

The launch of 'Venom: Time of Carnage' is being a real success. The plot sequence had the best opening of a film in Brazil since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, which took on worldwide proportions in March 2020.


According to Sony, the film starring Tom Hardy did nothing more and nothing less than R$3.072.630 at the box office, including even the premiere.
