More of the original cast from the "Human Cop" franchise will return for the fourth film in the franchise, which will mark a return to Eddie Murphy's classic comedy. The news was revealed by Netflix.
Returning characters include Judge Reinhold and John Ashton, alias Detective Billy Rosewood and Sergeant John Taggart, respectively, the cops who serve as sidekicks to Eddie Murphy's character, Axel Foley. In addition to the duo, the return of Paul Reiser and Bronson Pinchot was also announced.
Reiser is best known for playing Axel Foley's Detroit partner, Jeffrey Friedman, in the first two films of the series. On the other hand, Pinchot played a cheeky art gallery salesman.

— Netflix (@netflix) September 21, 2022“Bug Cop 4” will be directed by Mark Molloy, while the screenplay was written by Will Beall. Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman will produce on behalf of Jerry Bruckheimer Films, along with Eddie Murphy himself.
The sequel to the franchise, which won its first three films between 1984 and 1994. Murphy plays police officer Axel Foley, a Detroit cop transferred to the luxurious city of Beverly Hills, in Los Angeles County, where he tries to solve the murder of the best friend.

The new sequel, which will return decades after the last movie released, is currently in the filming stages in California. combined, the first three films amassed $616,2 million at the global box office, but the third film did not enjoy the same success as the first two.
But Hollywood is very generous with sequels to classics. Thus, Eddie Murphy returns to the role of Axel Foley. In 2019, the actor had already worked for Netflix in “My Name is Dolemite”.
