“Dune 2” will be the sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s award-winning film that premiered in 2021 and the first production image arrived unofficially. Actor Timothée Chalamet, who plays Paul Atreides, shared a photo on the set of the film on Instagram.
In the image, Chalamet is seen in the dunes of Arrakis, known as Dune by the inhabitants of the desert planet – the Fremen. The actor's costume drew attention for being dark and displaying a kind of x-ray of a skeleton, along with a hood. Despite this, all fan theories are nothing but speculation.

In addition to Chalamet, the cast of “Dune 2” will have the returns of Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem and Stellan Skarsgård and the additions of Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux and Austin Butler.
In November, Chalamet gave an interview to Variety and disclosed that Florence Pugh would have finished her part in the film, praising the work of the actress: “Florence is really special. She is an incredible actress. She was amazing in Dune – really amazing. She brought seriousness to the role,” said the actor.
Filming for “Dune 2” is underway and production has been taking place since June. Recently, Zendaya shared a photo in Abu Dhabi, where filming for the film is taking place. The film is scheduled for release on November 3, 2023.
The sequel to the 2021 film won't be the only production in the franchise for years to come. The spin-off produced by HBO, “Dune: The Brotherhood” is in development and should have a release date announced soon.
