Elizabeth Olsen Talks Scarlet Witch Solo Film

Elizabeth Olsen Talks Scarlet Witch Solo Film

Actress Elizabeth Olsen, who lives Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the MCU, started rumors of a solo film for her character.

In an interview with Good Morning America, the actress was asked about the possibility of appearing in the “WandaVision” spin-off, “Agatha: House of Harkness” and/or starring in the Scarlet Witch solo film.

“I would love to be a part of both,” Olsen replied. “No one tells me anything, and I'm not hiding a secret because I'm bad at it. I don't know anything about my future.”

Elizabeth Olsen first appeared in the MCU in the post-credits scene of "Captain America: Winter Soldier", and became a key figure in the Avengers, eventually earning a series alongside Paul Bettany, the Vision, in "WandaVision". His last appearance was in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, a recent film that has already arrived on Disney+ after performing well in theaters.

Now, the fate of the character is uncertain after the events of the end of the film, and there are rumors that a return could happen, and that Marvel Studios would already be developing a solo film of the Scarlet Witch. If that's the case, either Olsen didn't want to reveal it because she hasn't been authorized for it yet, or they haven't really sought her out for the film, or it's all just rumors.

Recently, the actress discussed the future of her character and has already said that she believes that she would accept to return to the role. “But it really needs to be a good story. I think those films are best when it's not about creating content but having a very strong point of view,” she told The New York Times in May.

On the other hand, "Agatha: House of Harkness" is already much more certain to happen than a potential solo film by Wanda Maximoff, production scheduled to start in October. Nothing is known at the moment of the plot, not even if it will be an origin story of Agatha Harkness, lived by Kathryn Hahn, or a sequel to the events of “WandaVision”.

“Agatha: House of Harkness” does not yet have a premiere date set by Disney+, but it is already possible to watch “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” on the platform.
