Warner Bros. released the poster for the film “Besouro Azul”, which is scheduled to premiere in theaters in Brazil on August 17, 2023. In the cast, Spanish actress Bruna Marquezine or Penny, one of the protagonists and possible romantic couple of the main character, is confirmed.

The film, which will be directed by Angel Manuel Soto and has a script by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, is based on DC comics and will only tell the story of the last character to wear the mantle of the Blue Beetle, the young man of Mexican origin Jaime Reyes.
In the plot, the teenager is part of the working class of El Paso and is very connected to his family. He will gain his powers by finding an alien beetle that gives him super powerful armor.

Belissa Escobedo (“Abracadabra 2”) will play the protagonist’s younger sister, while Susan Sarandon will play the villainous Victoria Kord. For now, Harvey Guillén (from the series “What we do in the shadows”) is confirmed, but his role has not been disclosed.
