The movie “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey”, horror slasher of Winnie the Pooh, won its first official trailer this Wednesday (31).

a title that translates to "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey", the film stars Craig David Dowsett as Winnie the Pooh and Chris Cordell as his best friend, Piglet. The pair fly into a rage when Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) abandons them both to go to college.

When no longer having the influence of the human friend, the pair of animals revolts and starts to chase humans near their homes. The trailer shows the characters in the middle of this stage of rage, showing a macabre interpretation of AA Milne's cute and lovable characters.

Rhys Waterfield, director of the film, revealed to Variety that the film was shot over a period of 10 days near Ashdown Forest, England. The location is important because it was what served as the inspiration for the creation of the 100 Acre Wood from Milne's original stories.

The reason a film like this is possible is that the original work entered the public domain this year. But, to avoid problems with Disney, which owns the copyright to interpretations of the characters, the film changed some elements, including the exchange of Winnie the Pooh's iconic red shirt for lumberjack equipment, and the absence of characters such as Tigger, who is still under copyright.

“When you try to make a movie like this, and it's a really crazy concept, it's very easy to go down a path where nothing is scary and it's really ridiculous and really, like, stupid,” said the director. “And we wanted to be in between the two.”

“Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” is scheduled for release at the end of the year, but there is still no information about the distribution of the film in Brazil.
